GOtv has just launched GOcard to provide a solution for anyone looking to buy a new LED TV and at the same time looking to subscribe to GOtv for great family entertainment. Here is how it works.
GOtv offers the best way to join the digital revolution – you will receive access to an exciting range of GOtv channels as it includes two months GOtv Plus subscription and a GOtenna.
If you have a digital TV, it is likely that it has a CI (Common Interface) slot somewhere on the side or back panels, which will cater for the GOcard (sometimes referred to as CAM – Conditional Access Module).
You are advice to keep a look out for the TVs in store with the GOtv compliant sticker.
If you have one of these TVs and a GOcard, you can enter the world of digital terrestrial TV without the need for a decoder. You also don’t need another remote control (you can use the TV remote control to control the features and channels available with your GOcard.)
How to Insert your GOcard into the TV
STEP 1
Switch the TV off and look for the CI slot on the back or side panel of your digital TV. (Refer to the TV manual if you’re not sure where to insert the GOcard).
STEP 2
Insert the GOcard into the slot with the electronic chip on top. The GOcard should slide in easily with a gentle push. Ensure the GOtenna is correctly connected. Do not force the GOcard into the slot as this could damage the TV.
So you might be wondering how much will this cost you. Well GOtv will be charge you Ksh. 3499/-. You will get a GOcard, two months GOtv Plus subscription and an external UHF GOtenna. However if you are only looking for GOcard without a GOtenna then it will cost you Ksh. 2,499/-
The GOcard is available in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu (in selected Supermarkets and electronic dealers).
