Entrepreneurs who run their businesses from home will be happy to hear that Zuku has revealed a revamped plan to deliver fast home based connections by launching 50 Mbps Internet service, the fastest residential service offering in the market.
Zuku has injected over Kshs 40 million in modernization of the network infrastructure to achieve speeds of 50Mbps thus providing speed and reliability value proposition critical to customers use and enjoyment.
The offering will be piloted to 100 customers in areas like Runda, Spring Valley, Karen and deployed on the company’s latest high capacity fiber optic network technology – GPON with full roll out expected by August to more customers.
According to Kenya National Broadband Strategy, urban areas in Kenya will enjoy internet speed up-to 40Mbps while in rural areas the internet speed is expected to reach 5Mbps by 2017.
The move comes even as the company continues to expand its residential network across key counties with Mombasa currently ongoing. Zuku anticipates connecting over 100,000 homes in Mombasa in to the high capacity fiber optic network.
