Kentucky Fried Chicken popularly known as ‘KFC’ will be opening its outlets in Nairobi this Friday according to a notice. Its outlets will be located in Junction Shopping Mall, Kimathi Street & Galleria.
Kenya seems to be lately attracting big investor. Not so far ago, Pepsi reinvested in the Kenyan market by putting up a Sh2.4 billion bottling plant in Ruaraka to counter the competition by its main rival Coca Cola.
According to Wikipedia, Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky, in the United States. KFC has been a brand and operating segment, termed a concept of Yum! Brands since 1997 when that company was spun off from PepsiCo as Tricon Global Restaurants Inc.
Kenya’s fast economic growth has gotten the attention from investors whom are keen on taking advantages of the new opportunities. KFC won’t be the last franchise to enter the Kenyan market.
The big question is, will McDonalds follow suit?
