The banking sector has always been a competitive industry with many banks in Kenya trying to capture the unbanked customers through mobile banking technology. Well today Chase Bank Kenya has launched a first-of-its-kind mobile platform dubbed Mfukoni.
The platform can be used on both USSD and Smart Phones as an APP. The mobile APP will enable customers to open investment accounts, pay KRA tax, make cheque book requisitions, cheque deposits and stop cheque payments, international money transfers, insurance and utility payments, among other banking products and services securely and without any hurdles by simply using their phones.
With the launch of Mfukoni, Chase Bank is now well-positioned to play a key role in reaching to the unbanked population to access financial services and also achieve part of its digital banking strategy to meet its business model.
Mfukoni, which works on all internet-enabled smartphones as well as USSD through *275#, enables customers to login in and access their accounts and perform banking transactions stress-free. The mobile platform will also be accessible to non–Chase customers seeking information about the bank’s offering, enabling them to apply and start enjoying services offered.
Chase Bank is keen to reach out to the unbanked population, particularly entrepreneurs who are ardent for financial inclusion. He disclosed that Chase Bank is keen to include digital strategy in their business model as part of its brand promise and commitment to deliver innovative products that meet its customers’ ever-changing needs.
