Cyber Security is becoming more real in Kenya as more businesses and government goes online and on mobile apps.
On that basis, AfricaHackOn started with a goal of bringing together the individual talents of the best and brightest security professionals in the region, through live presentations, engaging discussions and hands on demonstrations.
Kenya had been hosting many conferences related to cyber security but always either purely theoretical or vendor driven. This led to many techies in information security having a distaste for them.
From experience of running and managing my online businesses, I have encountered several security threats that has cost me some money and ofcourse few sleepless nights. I am glad that Africa Hackon is holding a conference this year to formulate practical solutions on some of this areas in which I believe a lot of businesses can benefit from;
- Mobile Device Security
- Cloud Security
- Malware Analysis
- Peverse Engineering
- Exploitation Techniques
- Forensics and Anti-Forensics
- Web Application Security
- Wireless Network Security
- Cryptography
- Social Engineering
- Telecommunications Security
